Free Therapy is a cover band based in Bergen County that performs songs from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Their repertoire includes tracks from artists like AC/DC, Oasis, Alanis Morissette, and many more.
The members of Free Therapy met while participating in a School of Rock Grad School program, where they dedicated years to refining both their musical skills and teamwork. Each member has an extensive musical background, which you can learn more about below. They have been playing together weekly since 2019 and are now excited to share their diverse range of music with the public!
Meet the Band
Shiri Redensky
Lead Vocals
Shiri started singing on her childhood staircase and has been connected with rhythm and dance for as long as she can remember. Free Therapy marks her return to performing after years of raising three daughters, building a career, and keeping her musical spirit close to heart. A Somatic Therapist, Dietitian, and singer-songwriter, she has created interdisciplinary projects blending original songs, visual storytelling, and embodied expression. She is currently writing and developing her debut album, exploring themes of identity, motherhood, and reclaiming one’s voice.
Rooted in classic rock, ’80s and ’90s alternative, Shiri is inspired by strong female artists like Alanis Morissette and Pink while gravitating toward songs that evoke joyful nostalgia. For Shiri, live music is its own form of therapy—a chance to get loud and awaken the soulful inner artist in us all.
Sarah Kapilow
Vocals & Guitar
Singer and guitarist Sarah Kapilow has over 15 years of gigging experience and holds a degree in Music Technology from NYU. Throughout her career, she has toured, recorded, written music, produced other artists, worked at various venues, and ran a music school. Sarah has shared her love of music all over the East Coast. While pop-punk is her specialty, she is also well-versed in various genres, including classic rock and pop. She releases solo music under the name Kaplow and has previously collaborated with Clouded Filter and McCalister.

Rich Lerner
Bass and vocals?
Rich has been obsessed with the bass since that first photo of him at age four, staring at the bass player at a wedding. He didn’t start playing until 1999, but is proud to sit in the background and hold down the groove. He has been a resident of Bergen County since 1999 and is Chairman Emeritus of Englewood Health.
